Current favourite songs

I thought it would be time that I present you guys my current fav songs, again. Not sure if you guys are actually liking it but music is very important to me, so I enjoy writing these things. And especially with the latest event in Manchester I think that music is even more important than ever to remind us about how music can make us all stronger together and that we can all spread love!

Most girls – Hailee Steinfeld

Okay, this song… Honestly, I freaking love this song. What I love about this song? Basically everything! I absolutely love the message behind this song. In case you haven’t heard this song or you haven’t listen to the lyrics yet, I can only advise you to do so. As the queen Hailee is, she basically describes that every single girl is a damn boss no matter of their physique and how they dress. Love the body positivity and the good message behind it that you can look at other girls and not tear them down, rather get inspired by them and try to be a strong, beautiful and fierce girl yourself!

I Have Questions & Crying In The Club – Camila Cabello

I never was a Harmonizer, but always quite enjoyed their music. So when Camila left the group it didn’t really bother me at all, tbh. But listening to her first solo songs I can only say that I absolutely love these songs. Just to make clear, I don’t take any sides of Harmonizers or Camila fans and I don’t try to get involved in any drama that is going on there. I just can say that I absolutely love her songs. I really like the beat of both and I think especially with Crying In The Club it has a really recognizing sound and every time I hear it I just want to get up and dance. With I Have Questions I think that everybody who had to go through a breakup can incredibly good relate to the lyrics. I think that when you separate these are the questions you ask yourself. And again I just really like the beat and everything music-wise in this song as well.

Despacito & I’m The One – Justin Bieber

If you know me then you’ll know that I was a very big Belieber when I was younger. Nowadays I enjoy some of his new songs but I’m not such a crazy fangirl anymore. But I have to say these two songs are just amazing. The first time I listened to Despacito I fell in love with this song. It truly is the perfect summer song and let’s be real Justin’s voice in it is just incredible and hearing him sing in Spanish let’s my little fangirl heart beat faster. Same with I’m The One, despite the Spanish part obviously. If you haven’t heard these two songs yet, all I can ask you is: Where the hell have you been? Go to Spotify, listen to these songs and tell me you didn’t want to instantly start dancing in your room or at least sit at the beach with a cocktail in your hand?!

Strip That Down – Liam Payne

See, I’m a Directioner, in fact I even have been to two concerts of them before, so when I got the news about that they split up I can’t deny that my heart was a bit heart broken. But when I first heard This Town/Slow hands by Niall, then Harry’s new songs/ album and now Liam songs I can’t deny that I absolutely love every single one. Liam went down more the R&B root and I must say I really enjoy his new music. Obviously it’s quite different to what 1D used to release but nevertheless I love it. And as much as I would like them to join as a group again, I love their solo things as much as their music as a group.

Bad Liar – Selena Gomez

Okay, is there actually one thing that this lovely lady can’t do? Once again she just released an absolute hit. I must say that it actually took me a bit time to loving this song but now I’m all about the vibe of the song. I have to say that it has a very specific sound, also with how she sings but I love this vibe, but I can imagine that it isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. This doesn’t mean though that I wouldn’t recommend you listening to the song, I definitely do recommend it. But I would say listen to it at least 2 – 3 times before you can decide for yourself if you like this song or not!

First Time – Kygo & Ellie Goulding

This song is bloody everywhere and I have to admit I don’t mind that at all. As always Ellies vocals are killing it on this song and actually I would love to hear this song live, I bet with you she would perform it even better than on the track (if this is even possible). Once again it’s an amazing summer song and I can’t wait to lie in the sun with this song on, like is there any way to get in a better mood?

There’s Nothing Holding Me Back – Shawn Mendes

I know, I know this song is out for quite a bit now, but this doesn’t change the fact that I absolutely bloody love this song. Okay, this also has to do with the fact that I recently saw Shawn live and I’m absolutely in love with his voice and his performance skills. But honestly, just listen to this song and tell me his vocals aren’t killing it?! This guy is so bloody talented that there was no way for me not to mention this song.

Lot’s of love,

Going to a concert alone

On march 3rd I went do a concert, alone. Scary right? I didn’t think either that that is even possible, let alone for me. But as it turned out it is possible, and as you all can see I’m still alive! So I wanted to share my experience with you. Let me begin from the very start.

It wasn’t really planned that I go alone. I saw on Snapchat that someone I know is going to a Shawn Mendes concert in Berlin, so I wrote her that I’m super jealous of her because I wanted to go so bad as well but I don’t know anybody who’s interested in his music as well. She instantly said that I just could see if I still get a ticket and could go there as well. Luckily I still got a ticket and actually a ticket at the block right next to the block my friend had her ticket.

When it came to the planing part in how to get there I knew that I had to be all by myself, because she came from somewhere else and also could come there just before the concert started because she had school this day and the enxt day, so she had to drive back home right after the concert finished. So I booked my bus and a hotel room which was totally fine.

I arrived on the day, went to my hotel, got ready and went to the arena. I wrote my friend a message where she is but unfortunately her signal didn’t work and she couldn’t get my message. So I was all on my own. And let me tell you it was alright.

Of course it was a bit weird to not share my excitement with someone else before and between the supporting act and the main act and of course also after, but it definitely wasn’t the end of the world.

In fact it actually was very nice to be all by myself just enjoying the show. Don’t get my wrong all people I have been to concerts with were absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have wished for better accompanies but for this particular concert it was exactly what I needed.

When people find out that I enjoy Shawn Mendes music I’m always instantly labeled as a crazy 13 year old child. Which I’m defintely not as you all know. People don’t understand thaat despite the fanbase of the artist might be younger than me, you still can enjoy someones music. And thats what I so with Shawn Mendes music. I like how he writes his music and is super involved with all the processes of his songs. And I must say vocaly this show has definitely been the best show I’ve ever been to.

I just stood there enjoying his show and enjoyed how he got lost in the music and eventually I did as well. I sang along to his songs and just let the good energy in this big arena overwhelm me. For this concert and this moment in my life I wouldn’t have wated to talk to somebody or let me distract by anything. Sometimes you might think it’s shit that your friend bailed on you and doidn’t get your message so you’re all by yourself now and everything is shit, when in fact it was the best thing that could have happen to me for this evenning.

And hoenstly, I would do it all over again. If Shawn Mendes or any other artist is coming to Germaany again and I don’t know anybody who wouuld go there with me, I would go all by myself again! Because who cares?

If you want to have a good time at a concert or show or wwhatever, who says you need someone with you? Honestly, I wouln’t have thought that I could do that by myself and enjoy being there, but hoenstly, I did. If you enjoy someones show or music has nothing to do with whom you be there. Of course you might want to share this experience with someone and you might have an awesome time with them, but as I just discovered it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t find someobdy. And even think about if you’re out with someobdy and they’re the worst accompany you could have wished for. For example just sit in their seat whilst you dance around beside them. Or you sing along from the top of your lungs and just sit there all in silent. Or if they just conpalint about how shit this is and if you can go home now. You defintitely wouldn’ have a good time then. So better go alone where you know ypu can be 100% yourself and enjoy yourself and the niht then havng someone with you whos dragging you down and makes you not having suhc a good time than you could have.

I’m definitely a persson who always needs the supoort form others and I’m a very insecure person myself but if I learnt one thing from this expereince than it is that you can have a fucking awesome time all by yourself and enjoy yourself. And yes, there might be people around you who comment on why you came alone and if you don’t have friends, but firstly they don’t know ypu, so they have no idea whats going on in your life and how many friends you have and secondly 8and most importantly) who gives a fuck about what strangerssay about sou anyways? Let them talk! You do you! They do them! Whatever!

So go to this fucking concert all by yourself! Or go to this party all by yourself! Or go where ever you want to all by yourself! And who knows, you might meet new people who you become friends with! 🙂

Lots of love,

Jenny xxx.

A guide to fellow fangirls for small concerts

it’s Alli and Jenny here! This is the first ever cooperative blog post any of us did, so yey! 😀 The reason why we’re writing it together is because we just went to a concert together. If you’re now wondering which concert that was, we gonna tell you now: State Champs. With As It Is and Northbound as supporting acts.

Why are we writing this then? I mean it’s not the first time we went to a concert together but this time it was a smaller punk rock concert. Therefore we want to share our experience and tips with you guys.

Very important is to get into the grove beforehand. This means listening to the act days before on repeat. You could make a playlist on Spotify or make a CD for your car and name it ‘Y/N concert adventure’, well at least that’s what we did.

Then you should chose your outfit and make-up. It should be appropriate for the act. At our concert most people wore dark colours and alternative clothes. You can wear merch if you want, although wearing merch of bands or artists who are friends with the artist is always a good choice as well. Another important aspect is that the clothes should be comfortable and not too warm so you can jump around and enjoy yourself. Still you should consider to bring a warm jacket for waiting outside in the winter. Talking about waiting outside, depending on where you want to stand during the concert, you should come early. This means if you want to be front row you definitely should be at the venue at least 3 hours beforehand because fangirls are crazy and they will be waiting there all day. At this concert we met some girls who had been at the venue for six hours before we were let in. Funny story, Jenny’s mum suggested we should be there even earlier that we’ve planned, so bless her. And she was right, of course. 😉

Some people might still be rude, come late and try to push in front of you. It’s important you stand up for yourself and talk to them. And if that doesn’t help bring out the good old elbow!

Always think about where you want to stand though. If you get anxiety or claustrophobia very easily stand away from the first few rows, because there will be a lot of pushing and squeezing. Try and get rid of most of your stuff and put it somewhere safe. Because otherwise it will get tread on, something will get stolen or it might be in your way whilst jumping up and down. Ask Alli. 😉 Don’t wear many layers, so you don’t have to get undressed during the concert because that’s hella annoying.

Make sure to have something to drink even though it might be expensive at the venue, but you definitely will be needing it! Trust us!

Always be nice and clap and have a good time with the supporting act(s), even though you don’t know them, because anything else would be plain rude!!! You always have to think about every single artist had to start somewhere small.

Don’t get scared with people pushing you around just try and stand your ground. Don’t be one of the annoying people who stand their ground too much and don’t move around with the crowd. Because that’s normal at a concert.

When the act has finished try and ask politely for maybe a guitar pick or the setlist, do anything but don’t scream hysterically.

If any of the artist try to stage dive don’t drop them on the floor! You might think what a stupid advice but that actually happened at our concert. Poor Ryan!!! ❤

After the show you can hang around and buy merch and if you’re lucky you might meet some of the band members. The members are like deer. they get irritated easily, so approach them friendly and careful! No, but just talk to them nicely just like to every normal person because in the end they are normal people like you and me! Don’t just jump at them and take a picture, ask for one first!

Always be nice to the tech guys, security and merch guys because this might help you to get closer to the band, we talk from experience! 🙂

So if you have any more questions don’t hesitate and contact us on out social media!

We’re out! Drop the mic not the guitarist!

Current/new songs I love

Hello my loves,

since all I’ve done the last couple of weeks is studying and revising I once again fallen in love with music. I don’t know why but every time I have to do things for Uni my mind decides to fall back in love with music and preferably would love to be the person who actually does this songs and sings them. Well, only problem: I can’t sing and I can’t play any instruments or have a great music telent, whatsoever. Damn it, would have been too good, right? 😀

So, if I can’t be the person who does all this amazing music, I decided to pick out 4 songs I recently have liked a lot and also 3 of them have just been released. I tried to write something useful about these songs as well, to try and make you listen to them, but by any means, I’m not a music expert and just somebody who I likes music an awful lot. So this is way I basically just try to convince you to listen to these songs rather then give you real music expert opinion on it.

I hope you like the songs I’ve chosen and whilst you read them and maybe even have a listen, I continue procrastinating and dream of a music career which I will never have! 😀

Lots of love,

Jenny xxx.

All Night – The Vamps & Matoma

Although this song is already quit ‘old’ I only recently fallen in love with it. Don’t get me wrong, I love The Vamps but this song is a bit different to their previous songs. Usual Vamps songs are pop songs which are inspired by rock music, I would say. They all play their own instruments, as a band does, therefore it isn’t your typical pop song you can hear in the radio.

But back to ‘All Night’. All Night isn’t a typical Vamps song since it’s produced by the Swedish DJ Matoma. It’s definitely an upbeat song which puts you automatically in a good mood, plus is amazing to dance around in your room! 😉

So, even if you aren’t the biggest Vamps fan and usually don’t like their music that much, I can only highly recommend you give this song a listen because it’s quite different to any other songs they have done before.

Are You Sure – Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard Ft. Ty Dolla $ign

Yes, you read right, Conor Maynard. He’s finally back with new original music! Some of you might remember songs like ‘Vegas Girl’, ‘Can’t Say No’, ‘Are You Crazy’ or ‘Royalty’. Or just simply know his amazing covers and from YouTube videos he has been in. Nevertheless if you heard from him or not, he’s back with new music! And let me tell you, a pretty good one as well. Whilst listening to this song, it kinda reminds me of the vibe of new Justin Bieber songs. But it’s definitely not copying or anything, its just the same vibe and around the same kind of music. Conor’s voice is really good in it, although this song definitely doesn’t even show the whole potential of his voice.

If you like songs like ‘What Do You Mean’, ‘Let Me Love You’ or ‘Where Are Ü Now’ I can only advise you to listen to this song as well because it’s a pretty good song!

Dirty Laundry – All Time Low

Every single punk/ pop-punk lover, you’re in for a real treat: All Time Low is back with a new song. Well, also every other person is in for a treat, but, well at least in my friendship group, nobody has heard from All Time Low if it isn’t somebody who likes punk. Anyhow, this song was just released last Friday and let me tell you it’s amazing!
Even though it starts of quite slow and kinda reminds me more of like your typical songs you can hear in the radio, after the second chorus, it’s clear that it isn’t your typical song you can hear on the radio. It’s definitely guitar and drum driven! But it definitely sounds different from previous songs from All Time Low. But what else do you expect from an artist? They change and so does the music change with them. Plus I think I don’t even need to address that Alex sounds amazing, as usual, in it.

Fight For It – Lucy Spraggan

You remember her? Lucy Spraggan auditioned in 2012 for the X-Factor UK and let me tell you she delivered one of the best and funniest auditions, with her original song ‘Last Night’, I’ve ever seen. Sadly she had to leave the Show early because of healthy reasons, if I’m not mistaken. But now she’s finally back with a new song. Let me tell you, this song is right up my alley. It starts of with just an electric guitar and her singing. I particular like this because it shows Lucy’s good voice! In general I think it’s refreshing that it is a chilled song where you can hear the instruments that are played in this song. The whole song is simple and clear but yet deep and beautiful.

New Releases in the music world

Every time I have turned on the radio last week everybody was talking about the new mega releases artist have, so I thought, what better do than write about it and talk about some of them.

1. Lady Gaga – Perfect Illusion

How could I start this list without putting the queen herself first? After what felt like years the queen of pop has released a new song, finally for all the little monsters taste.

So far I’ve only listened to it once this afternoon when I drove home from grocery shopping and I have to say, although it’s a bit different to her last album, you clearly can hear the Lady Gaga edge to it.

2. Green Day – Revolution Radio

After what felt like centuries Green Day are finally back with a new song (gosh, punk/rock fans are blessed, with the new Blink 182 album, Good Charlotte Album and now this) which is the first ssingle off of the same titeled album which will be out on the 7th October. So far I haven’t heard it, I know how dare I, but as everything Green Day does it can only be amazing and a right treat for every Green Day fan or people who enjoy this kind of music.

3. Kings of Leon – Waste a Moment

Once again, Kings of Leon must have put out music years ago. Surly everybody remembers iconic songs like ‘Sex On Fire’ or ‘Use Somebody’. I don’t think I’m exhilarating when I’m saying that surely everybody must be exciting to hear new stuff by them playing on the radio.

4. Mac Miller ft. Ariana Grande– My Favourite Part

Do I even have to say anything about this song? Every song Ariana Grande is on is a smasher and I’m sure this song isn’t different. This girl could touch poop and it would turn into gold. With this incredible voice this isn’t any wonder, isn’t it?

5. Post Malone ft. Justin Bieber – Deja Vu

Every Belieber hold on to your seats. If you are like me and not quite over JB’s last hits ‘Cold Water’ and ‘Let Me Love You’ you must be very strong now. Here he is with a new feature. As we all know since his little break and he came out with his album ‘Purpose’ full of hits, he’s doing incredibly well. Can’t really be a bad song with him on it at the moment, can it?

post-malone-justin-bieberPicture Source

6. One Republic – Future Looks Good

After ‘Kids’ and ‘Wherever I Go’ ‘Future Looks Good’ is One Republic’s new smashing hit off of their upcoming album ‘Oh My My’ (which is coming out on the 7th October by the way). Since the last two songs were super successful all around the world, there is basically no way this song won’t be a hit either. With a front man named Ryan Tedder there is nothing different to expect, really.

7. Sia – The Greatest

Don’t think I have forgotten Sia, nono, I haven’t. How could I forget her? As I read online Sia fans are on the edge of their seat from excitement since she released her new single. But could you expect something different from her? I’m sure ‘The Greatest’ will be as successful as her other songs in the past. Hair like this must produce great songs.

8. Melanie C – Anymore

Spice Girls fans be prepared, Mel C herself released a new song. I guess I’m not the only one who will listening to this song with a following celebratory Spice Girl dance party, right?

9. James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go

You remember James Arthur? The absolute talent who won the British X-factor back in 2012 and had his massive break-through with his incredible single ‘Impossible’. He is back with a new song. I personally couldn’t be more exciting because I think he has an incredible voice plus is an amazing artist and I could listen to him even sing about poop and I would buy it.

10. Busted – Coming Home

Every Busted song is amazing and takes me right back to when I was little/ an early teen, so when I read that they’re bringing out a new song I couldn’t wait to hear it. Definitely check them out if you haven’t yet.

coming_home_-_single_busted_album_artworkPicture Source

Of course they have been more releases this week, but I thought 10 would be enough for today. If you want us write more about music like this let us know and we’re sure to do so because we’re all great music lovers with similar but yet different music tastes.

Lots of love,

Festivals I want to go to

Hey, hi, hello guys,

It is summer and people are on break and you just go to the lake and enjoy life in the sun. There are also lots of different small festivals happening right now. Festivals are awesome and just something you really should attend when you’re young. You sleep in tents, drink beer and see lots of amazing artists with your friends. Of course there are festivals for different types of music, so if you go to the right one you might even discover new artists you like. There are sooo many big and small festivals all around the world and I picked out those ones for you I’d kill for to go to them.

  1. Coachella

I think we all know Coachella, it’s that festival all our favourite stars go to and post pictures wearing bohemian style outfits on their instagram. The Coachella Valley music and art festival takes place in Indio, California. It’s in April and lasts three days, but it’s repeated with the same line up the week after. The special thing about Coachella is, that it’s an art exibition as well, there are always lots of sculptures and instellations. There are mostly Indie, Alternative, HipHop and Electro Artists who come to Coachella. Bands/Artists who played there are for example Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Oasis, The Cure, The Killers. This year there were also Halsey, The 1975, Calvin Harris and James Bay. Yeah I’d really love to go there one day, it’s super warm, but not too hot at the time, I like the artists and the style is amazing. Also there is a high chance of meeting your favourite celebrities, 2016 Taylor Swift and Shay Mitchell went there for example.

  1. Reading and Leeds Festivals

Reading and Leeds Festivals are rock festivals in England. The Reading festival is the older one of them and started of as a Jazz Festival. Later it became more Hard Rock and Metal orientated, but since the 80s/90s they play more popular music. It takes place at bank holiday weekend in August and (as you might have guessed) in Leeds and Reading at the same time. The reason I want to go there, even though the chances that it rains are high because its in England ;), is that the line up is most of the time actual perfection to me. Artist who played there are for example: Nirvana ( their last concert in the UK), Blink 182, Biffy Clyro, My Chemical Romance, The Foo Fighters, Paramore, Green Day, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Arctic Monkeys and Imagine Dragons. 26.-28. August 2016 wont be any less awesome with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fall out boy, Twentyone Pilots and The 1975. Yeah so the artists are always amazing and I would chop my left hand off to go there.

  1. Rock im Park/ Rock am Ring

Chances are the highest that I get to go to one of them, because they’re german festivals and I don’t actually live too far away from Nuremberg where Rock im Park annualy takes place. Rock am Ring used to be in a town called Adenau, but since 2015 takes place at a former military airport in a small town called Mendig. The two festivals happen simultaniously at the end of may ort he beginning of June. This year there were from the 3.-5. June, but Rock am Ring had to be stopped because of a strong rainstorm. As the name says they are rock festivals. Artists like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Oasis; Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon, Muse and so many other famous people have already played there. 2016 you could see Red Hot Chili Peppers ( honestly which festival do they not play), Biffy Clyro, Bring me the Horizon, Panic! At the Disco, Billy Talent and The 1975. There are always also lots of german musicians so theres something for everyone. I really hope I can go there next year.

  1. Glastonbury

Another british festival I want to rock out at. The Glastonbury Festival of contemporary performing arts (uhh sounds fancy) is one of the biggest festivals worldwide. It takes place on the last weekend of June near Glastonbury in Somerset. Not only are there performances from bands of lots of different types of music, but also theater-, dance- and comedy performances. Glastonbury is also sometimes called “english woodstock“. Bands who’ve already performed there are for example: Led Zeppelin, Lady Gaga, Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Radiohead. This year Adele, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, The 1975 (yeah them again), Jess Glynne, Bring me the horizon and Muse among others played glastonbury. So you see because there are many different types of music, so there’s something for everyone.

  1. Warped Tour

If I had to choose one festival I would always go to Warped tour, or Vans Warped tour as it is sponsored by Vans. It’s even mentioned in some of my favourite songs, like The Rock Show by Blink 182. The special thing about Warped Tour is that it’s a tour, so there isn’t one date, but it travels through the United States and sometimes comes to Australia, Europe and Japan. I think the tour is currently happening. There aren’t only musicians playing, there are also halfpipes with skaters showing their skills. The bands playing there are mostly Punk and Alternative, like Sum 41, blink 182, Paramore, Green Day, Simple Plan, The Offspring, All time low, 30 seconds to Mars, The Used, The All-American Rejects or in other words ALL THE BANDS I LIKE. Sorry I’m getting ecxited just by thinking about the line ups. This year there are The Maine, New Found Glory, Sleeping with Sirens, We the Kings, State Champs, Mayday Parade, Tonight Alive or in other words SOME MORE OF THE BANDS I LIKE. Yeah so as you might have noticed I’d rather be at warped tour right now and I’m very frustrated because I can’t go. Going to Warped Tour is one of my life goals and i’m gonna make sure to make that happen.

Soo that was it and now we’re all sad we’re at home in our pjs and not at a festival. Sorry if some of you feel the need to cry or just spent all of their money on festival tickets for next year because of this post. Anyway I hope you’re having a lovely day and remember to stay hydrated and use sunscreen.

Alli xx
